Highboy

I bought this highboy in VA a year ago and it's been in storage. I finally uncovered it and painted it with OOPS paint. It's a gray paint that looks a little blue depending on the light. This broke my rule of "if I can't move it myself, don't buy it."  It wouldn't be the first time that rule got broken.

I had to paint this in place since it was so heavy. Off to paint some more!

Painted Hutch the UPS man watched get blown off the hand truck ~

The wind has been terrible this past week and not much has gotten painted. So I have re-arranged my booths and shopped for new stuff for Lucketts Spring Market. I could fill several booths with the stuff I have hoarded, however, I only have a 10 x 10 booth.

Anyway, what does the UPS man have to do with this? Well, after this was completed and ready for prime time, I was wheeling it across the parking lot and the UPS man was standing there and made a stupid comment about the weather. About that time, a huge gust of wind caught the top portion of the hutch and blew it off the hand truck. I caught it with my chest so it didn't fall to the ground, but it landed hard on the front leg and it broke off. What did the UPS man do you ask? NOTHING!! He continued on his merry way into the store and didn't offer to help, didn't ask if I needed help or to see if I was still alive. Thanks Dude! I got it! Don't mind me!  He also didn't even open the door for me when I finally picked up the broken leg and hobbled my way to the door. Thanks again DUDE!!

Cute, but could and will be cuter!

Lightly distressed. Not too much.

The leg that broke off is shown. It was a clean break and I repaired it awsomely.

Done and staged and ready for its new home.

YAY! One piece finished this week. Hopefully the wind will be gone tomorrow and I can get a few already primed pieces finished.  I dedicate this post to you Mr. parcel delivery man, not so helpful dude, don't have time to help, not a gentleman, UPS man.  I GOT IT!

Booth Update

It's no secret that I love to buy JUNK! Some days I like the buying more than the cleaning, fixing, pricing, hauling, placing, and selling. Ok, I love the selling. But all the in between can wear a person out. My truck is always full, the garage is full and so is a storage area.  My goal is to clean out the garage to have a work area, but I haven't gotten all the projects moved yet. Today I spent a great deal of time unloading the truck  and loading it into the booth.

Spring has sprung! New brighter pieces for spring. Some of this I will take to Lucketts Spring Market (if I still have them.)

Easter table full of bunnies and eggs

My new bowl rack, LOVE IT!

My new heart pine chest. Someone took a lot of time to strip off the paint. Luckily, it wasn't me!

I have more to add, but the weather has been so crazy lately, it's tough to plan around. We are fortunate not to have snow though. We have had very high winds and frigid mornings. Hopefully tomorrow I can get a few more things painted.

If there is anything you see that you MUST have, let me know, I will ship most anything.

Changes are coming..

New name, more JUNK, and more paint. I'm getting back to the blogging world!  I have quit my sales job and I now paint furniture full time!  I am taking on custom painting jobs, selling antiques and JUNK full time. It's a little scary, ok, A LOT SCARY! But I needed to at least try it full time. So here goes..

I have had my business facebook page for several years now and want to incorporate it into my blog and website (working on this too.) So these 3 things working together, I hope to paint my pants off and transform creepy furniture pieces into works of art! Well, maybe that is going too far, but I do want to turn ugly into cute and functional. Here is a link to my business page:

Most everything that is/will be posted or featured will be for sale. If there is anything you are interested, I will be happy to let you know how much it is and can ship it to you. I am also working on several pieces to take to the LUCKETTS SPRING MARKET!! Yup, I'm a vendor this year and very excited.  It will be a great place to kick off my new career.  Here's to a new year!

Did you miss me? ~

HEY YA'LL!

I'm back. I was only gone a week on my trip, but it took me awhile to get organized, motivated and settled.  I had a great time on my road trip, even though the weather was rainy.  I drove to VA to see Luckett's Antique Store and then kept driving until I hit NJ.  My trade show in NJ was near the Meadowlands Stadium so I just HAD to check out their flea market Sat. morning. First things first though:

Luckett's was cool.

I got there 2 minutes after they closed though, not good. Traffic and weather held me up. This is what I drove in most of the way:

It was just gross.

Since I didn't make into the store the first day, I went back the next day and shopped, and shopped.  Here are a few pics of the inside. Not great cell phone shots, but I didn't want to take my big camera in. I just thought that would be too weird and didn't know if they would like that or not.

Found her! Had to check out this booth. One of my favorite bloggers.  What you don't know is that this is on the third floor. Ok, maybe you did know that. But the stairs are STEEP! I can't believe she has to haul all her furniture up 3 flights of stairs!  I don't think I could do that.  I haul too much junk in as it is. On the other hand...I would probably weigh 100 pounds.

I wanted this table. But it was a little too expensive for me to re-sell and I don't have room for it in my house. It was gone when I went back at the end of the week....C'est la v1e....

Loved this chest. So pretty.

This corn bin from the Shenandoah Valley came home with me..I love it. I had a piece of glass under my bed for 2 years, and now it has a home.

One more shot.

So all in all it was a fun road trip.  The flea market at the Meadowlands was not the best.  It was a bunch of new socks and shirts and not much of the old stuff that I like. I'm still glad I checked it out though.

So there you have it. I made it to Luckett's. I have taken pics of the rest of the loot I came home with which I will show you in the coming days.

Front of Luckett's.
The rain just didn't let up. It was constant and annoying.
