HOT HOT HOT!
The day started with me sleeping in, my alarm didn't go off. I'm dense. My friend Cindy was waiting for me at a grocery store and had to call and wake me up to meet her. I was in the car within 15 minutes and off we went. Well almost, we had to get a biscuit from Hardee's and then I had to hit the bank.
We got to our first stop at 6:45 or so, and we didn't stop...
what would the country be without John Deere?
a mosaic tiled tractor, I sense a theme...
I don't think my neighbors would appreciate this..
this one lays blue and green eggs, I forget the name of this kind of chicken
LUNCH! Southern BBQ of pulled pork.
My friend Judy's yard. More on her house another day. It was BEAUTIFUL and Primitive. Did I mention that I love Primitives?
$350 for a spinning wheel? No.
Dealers from NJ. EXPENSIVE!
these were cool wood carvings
Peach farmers held up traffic everywhere!
crammed full
Here is the haul
(not the buffet in the background, that's another project)
2 chairs that need new upholstrey and a large gateleg table
a rusty peanut butter tin, soap holder, lamp and nightstand
aqua platter and upholstrey hammer
juice glasses
the first of 3 kids chairs. A tiny painting of a sailboat and a comb for bozo's hair..
another kids chair, already sanded and ready to go. A chamber pot and cute napkins
BOOKS to add to my summer reading list
the car was cleaned out and my dog, Finn, jumped in ready to go for a ride (we didn't)
an iron plant stand, 2 matching mahogany book cases, a childs coat rack, a tri fold dresser mirror
we couldn't leave the low country of SC without peaches from
Edgefield, the peach capital of the world!
another oak mirror, of course it needs a little work...
All in all, it was a great day. Ran into some friends, toured another friends house, met a ton of wonderful people and sweated about 5 pounds away. While I was doing this yardsale, my parents were coming home from St. Louis and stopped at the Georgia 90 mile yardsale. My Mom and I did this 2 years ago and I don't like that they always do these sales the same weekend. Which is bad for us addicts. But they scored a buffet for me for $15! I can't wait to see that.
I will be very busy tomorrow getting as much done as I can so I don't have to store any of my finds. I will post pictures of each piece as they are completed.
The caboose comes at the end.
The End.
