WINNING! ~

Yup, That is my alma mater, The University of South Carolina, winning the College World Series. AGAIN!  WOO HOO! Back 2 Back championships.  Couldn't be prouder.  It hasn't always been easy to be a Gamecock fan. Our sports teams have a habit of choking when it counts. But the baseball team seems to have licked that. MVP of the game: Scott WINGO! It's just fun to say.  It was a few late nights though and I'm still tired. But I couldn't go to bed without knowing how they did.

Of course there was a parade to celebrate thier homecoming. Fun times.

Anyway, back to the furniture...

Last Saturday, I spent the entire day painting. I pulled this end table out of the garage. It had been in there for about 2 years.  It was covered in dust and spiders, it was gross. They dust turned to mud when I cleaned it up.  But my goal is to paint 5 things from my stash every weekend, and this was right inside the door, and I thought it was about time for it to see the light of day.

I was in a green mood. This is Green Apple spray paint with a white top. With a little distressing, I like the fresh cottagy(is that a word?) look.

This is another chair that has been in the black hole for about 2 years. I needed a chair to go with a desk I already have in my booth.  The white paint was messed up so I painted it BLACK!

I think the black makes it look smarter and it goes great with the desk.

This are very sturdy, simple chairs. Aged to perfection at around 2 1/2 years in the garage.  I couldn't decide what color to paint them, but I love red right now, so red they are..

They look great and go well with that walnut table to the left.

Here are a few more things that I painted, but need after pictures.

The guy I bought this from was so proud of the "marble" looking top on this table. It was hideous.

Love this curio with a mirrored back and glass shelves, and it has a light in it..

2 of the 3 kids chairs I did. These were already sanded down and ready to go. So they got a coat of Spa Blue. I'll have after pics of these tomorrow.

In the words of my father: I have to go check out the insides of my eyelids...

  1. Great curio transformation! I just inherited one this past weekend and I have been looking for inspiration.
